Piece Prize’s Mastermind: Scott Mayer!

Growing up on the South Dakota plains where temperatures frequently drop below zero, jigsaw puzzles were an integral part of life.  Getting out the card table and assembling a puzzle with mom & dad while wind whipped the snow around outside is a favorite memory.

It’s funny how history repeats itself, because I’m again looking forward to puzzling days this winter as we settle in for a bit of COVID-19 solitude.

But thanks to technology, there’s an opportunity to enjoy both the nesting nature of puzzling AND ways to meet new people and enjoy some friendly competition.  This is what Piece Prize is about, and I hope you’ll find it fun.

Unfortunately, neither of my parents are around to join in, but their deaths due to Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia led me to learn more about the disease and the great work the Alzheimer’s Association is doing around education and prevention.  I’m so proud to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association of MN & ND on this project and love that puzzling is a great way to ward off the disease.

As we move forward, I’m hopeful we’ll continue to find ways to improve on this concept.  If you have any thoughts or suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at scott@themayerco.com or via text at 612.870.1234.
